Alright sure haven’t been here in a while. Been a little crazy. I’ve definitely had a great summer between, SF, LA, Tahoe, skipped out of the country for a min ahhh it’s been fun. Soaking up the lovely California sunshine, cannot complain there.
Fashion weeks starts soon, definitely hitting up a few shows… the invites are waiting my arrival. Stoked.

Just arrived back in California for a month. Had a great flight, completely full flight but one seat, and the open seat was right next to me. I scored. You know when you get on a flight and you are already sitting. The people walking down the isle, you’re going, Oh God please don’t make that person be the one sitting next to me, on please no. Thank God the women with the front butt didn’t sit next to me after she rubbed said front butt against my shoulder as she squished by my row. Yea, for empty seat.
I must admit I already miss NYC… what gives!? You know I really don’t think it’s that I miss NYC but I miss everyone there. Sigh.
Work Work Work!!!! August is dead in NYC in the FASHION WORLLLLLD anyway and not to mention HOT AS ALL HELL!!!!!
I get a bit of a break from work but that doesn’t really last that long. Going to be between SF and LA for August. hopefully I can put in some beach time before I head back to NYC September 1st

How do you wear those trendy shinny leggings that we keep seeing on all those American Apparel ads? Pretty simple. Victoria Beckham sported them several times as well as Ashley Olsen. Or wait was that the latex legging, scary. Well both are big right now regardless if we love them or hate them. Personally, I must say I have been wanting to shoot some latex leggings for a while now just haven’t done it. At this point I’m a bit over it, seen it too much in several editorials. REGARDLESS, the look can be sexy and definitely edgy if you can pull it off. Now, this look is not for everyone. I like this look best with a over sized rock t-shirt heels and a oversized cardigan, vintage Rayban sunglasses and you’re good to go.

Don’t miss out on this summers super hot trends. Ksubi formally known as Tsubi (pronounced soobie) has created a short version of their “Overhauls” which they are calling their “Chuck Biscuit” … basically this is your overall gone sexy and then cut SUPER SHORT. Loving it already?? I’m sure you are. This isn’t your typical farm John overalls, these are super cut, super sexy, and they will definitely turn some heads at the beach. Cute even if you just wear a bikini top under. Or tank, I personally would opt for the tank. You’ll give off enough skin as it is with. Why not show a little leg to the boys this summer, after all they are “visual creatures” so I have been told.

How do you wear that popular spring trend, the Drindl Skirt? Pretty simple. This cute little number is suppose to define the waist. The waist definition brings the focus to the body making this skirt not only very feminine buts also very sexy. Since the skirt is the main focus of the outfit you don’t want to take away from that. Wear a simple tank top suits this look perfect for a hot summer day. If you are wanting to go out on the town and want to dress it up a bit grab a little cropped jacket like shown in the Gucci runway shot to the left. The belt added even draws more attention to the waist and gives a overall bold statement. The outfit can go from day to night, quickly!
The fun thing about the Dirndl Skirt is that it can be super casual if you want it to be. You can go casual with a plain top, and leather sandals, add some wooden jewelry for a very boho look.
Summer is all about fun so have fun with this skirt, don’t be afraid to wear it, it’s not just for the runway!

Some of you might be excited that I am going to make this blog a little more focused on what I am doing here in NYC, some maybe not so much. Heh. Yes, screw everyone and everything else I’m taking over and the blog is all about ME. Wait, I’ve always been in charge. Who is Reese you might be asking? Well… in time you’ll find out. Till then just read, and enjoy the fun I share from a fashion stylists stand point. I’m going to be reporting on my projects and shoots, I’ll even post photos every now and then. Personally, there are a ton of fashion blogs out there but not many blogs giving you info about what happens BEHIND the actual photo. Intriguing don’t you think?

Hello everyone!! We are back in action! I know we had a little hiatus there for a bit, ok not a bit we were out of commission for nearly 2 months! Horrible I know but trust me when I say, I have been B-U-S-Y! I am happy to be back updating and I hope you all enjoy the bright and new colorful look of A LA MODE. It’s definitely expressing my creative energies these last few months.
Stay turned as I will be updating on my crazy life here in NYC and all that I am up to! Lots of fashion, models, editorials, designers, trends, fashion photographers, musicians and everything in between! Oh and of course the regular updates on all things happening in the best industry, the fashion industry.
Ciao

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our favorite DJ, EAN GOLDEN!!! Okay so I’m a little objective.
If you haven’t heard of this DJ, producer and writer you are definitely missing out. Check him out by clicking on his name above or check back here later for a feature on him. If you need something tangible you can pick up a copy of REMIX Magazine where Ean has a regular column called Digital DJ. If you are a DJ yourself or… should I say aspiring DJ, (that title seems to be throw around too easy these days) you might be interested in checking out Ean’s blog DJ TECHTOOLS where he posts regular updates on topics from controllerism to tutorials on mixing and setting up gear in a club.
Oh and on another note Tijis Verwest aka DJ Tiesto also is celebrating his Birthday today! Two great DJ’s with the same Birthday, what do ya know? So yea, Happy Birthday to Tijis as well!
